What is the difference between a ‘Solo’ participant and ‘Duo’?
A solo participant is a single person riding the motorcycle (no pillion, no passenger).
A solo participant may share a room with another solo participant or opt for a private (individual) room. If you make a solo participant reservation, you are responsible for finding another solo participant to share a room. We may have a solo participant that we can pair you with, if not, you will be charged the rate for a private room. We will only suggest a same-sex solo participant for room sharing.
Duo is a 2 persons riding on the same motorcycle (rider & pillion) and sharing the same room.
Cancellation:
If you cancel 180 days prior to your tour departure, you will receive a full refund of any monies paid.
Cancellation between 179 days-45 days from the tour departure date, you will receive a refund of 50% less any bank fees, credit card fees and 250 euro admin fee.
Cancellation less than 45 days from tour departure date=no refund.
Changes:
You may change to a different tour more than 180 days from departure. You will pay the difference if the new tour is more expensive. There is no guarantee you get the same bike that you originally reserved. From 180-45 days from departure a 25% change fee (based on the new tour price) will be applied. We will try to accommodate you as best we can; however, room & bike availability may make it impossible to honor your change request. Under 45 days from departure there is little chance you can make a change.

-riding several hours a day on twisty roads, sweeping roads, mountain roads, with little or no highway riding.
-riding several hours a day for multiple days in a row.
-riding in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, fog)
-riding at posted speed limits as conditions allow for the duration of the day.
If you are deficient in these areas you might struggle causing physical and mental fatigue that will accumulate over time, putting yourself, passenger and fellow riders at risk. If you are not sure your skills are up to par, contact us beforehand to talk it over.
Basic requirements:
- 21 years old
- 2 years of riding >600 cc bike
- Valid license with motorcycle endorsement
- International Drivers License
- No license suspension within last 24 months
- Any false statements or paperwork means that our insurers won’t cover you.
- We expect you to be physically & mentally capable of riding safely with the group for the duration of the tour.
If you make a solo reservation and you do not have a travel partner, we will assign you one of the same sex.
If there isn’t another solo rider looking to share a room, the private room difference will be added to your reservation.
On some occasions you might be assigned an M2 staff member.

If you would like to participate in a tour with a non-riding travel companion, we may have space in the luggage van.
The luggage van is used when we have a minimum of 6 participants.
Please inquire prior to making your reservation.
BEFORE YOU DEPART
Your credit card might not work. US credit & debit card technology is slightly behind European standards.
Europeans have mostly done away with signing a receipt for credit card purchases in lieu of using a PIN code.
Inquire with your card issuer before you depart to make sure your card will function at attendant-less gas stations, automated toll booths, kiosks and the like.
Paying for gas could be problematic if your card is not compatible with European systems. Always carry a little cash in case you need to pay someone with a credit card.
Pay as you go temporary credit cards are available at most post offices and tobacco/news stand shops. You can fill up the card with funds and won’t have a problem.
- If you are crossing several time zones to go on tour, take the effects of jet-lag into account.
- You are expected to be capable of riding safely without endangering yourself, passenger, other participants or guides.
- Plan accordingly: show up with adequate margin of dealing with jet-lag.
- If your flights are cancelled due to weather, or other and you miss the departure you will miss the tour.
- If your baggage gets lost and you do not have your gear, you will not be able to depart unless we happen to have gear that fits you.
You can exchange currency for Euros prior to departure just to have some cash.
You can withdraw Euros from bank machines using your ATM or credit card. Check to see if your bank will charge you for foreign withdrawals ahead of time. Certain banks will not charge a fee provided you withdraw from a certain foreign bank ATM.
Exchanging money at the airport is possible, but you will pay a fee and not get the best exchange rate.
Yes you can ship us your gear.
There are a number of companies that offer suitcase shipping services, or you can use a traditional shipping company like FedEx, UPS, DHL. Not an endorsement, but many guests have used: https://www.sendmybag.com/ and seem to be content with their service.
You should photograph everything and make a manifest. We can inspect your shipment upon arrival to ensure everything is accounted for and in good shape.
We offer gear for rent if you prefer to travel light and not take any chances shipping yours.
- Copy of your passport in case of loss.
- Valid prescriptions in case you need to refill medication. Not all medications are available in all countries, so plan accordingly.
- Driver’s License with Motorcycle Endorsement: valid driver’s license showing you can ride a >600 cc bike.
- International Driver’s License: Non-European Residents are required to have an International Driver’s Permit. The Police in some countries may at their discretion not issue a fine but inform you that you need an International Driver’s Permit.
- Copies of any travel insurance documents
If you are bringing your own motorcycle gear, you will need a helmet, gloves, jacket and appropriate footwear (boots recommended). We suggest pants as well. Remember your rain gear, just in case.
We offer the option of renting gear so you can travel light, with fewer bags and no risk of losing your gear in transit. Check out the Gear Bundle page here.
Think layers. A polar fleece or something you can take on or off if it gets chilly or warm.
Similar colors/materials: to facilitate laundry if you need to do some while on tour.
Swimsuit: for hotels with pools or spas. Maybe one shirt with collar for the gents as you might eat at a nice restaurant.
Most hotels will have wifi.
Check with your mobile phone provider about roaming rates while on tour.
You may want to purchase a SIM card for a local number ahead of time to avoid a high bill.
Gratuities are calculated into the price at restaurants, cafes, etc.
While we don’t expect a gratuity for providing great service, a good review or telling some friends about us is always welcome.
