Right off the bat you’ll face big time legendary mountain passes. Alpe d’Huez, Glandon, the Iron Cross, & Galibier passes. And that’s just day 1. Throughout your adventure you’ll get a diverse experience that includes all different types of roads.

The Riviera-home of the rich and famous. Monaco, Nice, Cannes. Movie stars, yachts, royalty, opulent homes. The Riviera has been attracting visitors since the 1700’s. Enjoy the beauty, the climate, the food.

Nimes aka the most Roman city outside of Italy. Lots of wonderfully preserved vestiges from Roman times. Nimes has a vibrant night life, a lively old town with lots of restaurants, live music, outdoor markets. The coliseum is not be missed.

Perpignan located on the Mediterranean coast and Spanish border. Perpignan marks the start of the Pyrenees. The city dates back to Roman times and has been fought over throughout the ages. A cool old town with some excellent restaurants and night life.

Saint Jean de Luz this coastal town in Basque country thrived on fishing and piracy. Louis the XIV was married in Saint Jean de Luz. Basque country has many specialties to enjoy-seafood, cured ham, famous pimentos. Check out a game of Jai Alai, a Basque sport, try your luck at the casino in Biarritz or just chill on the beach.

San Sebastien-just over the border in Spain is the lovely city of San Sebastien (Donostia). The impressive old town is waiting for you to explore it. The tapas here are fabulous. After some sightseeing stop off at the beach for a dip in the Med.

Vaison la Romaine wonderful Roman ruins, medieval town and cathedral. Vaison is unique in that you can visit vestiges of the Romans along those of the Middle Ages. The Medieval town perched on a hilltop is wonderfully preserved. There are not many towns like this, so go explore and see what life was like hundreds of years ago.

Carcassonne, this fortified city dating back to Roman times will surely impress. During the crusades and middle ages, Carcassonne played an important role. On several occasions it was besieged, although never overrun. Walk the streets and ramparts to get a feel of what life was like back in the day.



Great Places:
Mount Ventoux although part of the Alps, many people think it belongs to another mountain range since it towers over everything nearby. At 1,909 m (6,263 ft), it is the highest mountain in the region and has been nicknamed the “Bald Mountain” the “Beast of Provence”, or “Giant of Provence”.
The wind blows at over 90 km/h (56 mph) for 240 days a year. The top is devoid of any vegetation. The limestone cap covering the peak gives the Ventoux a lunar like atmosphere.
