Siena is by far Italy’s loveliest Medieval city. Famous for its Palio bareback horserace taking place at the cental piazza Il Campo. (see James Bond Quantum of Solace)
Don’t miss the cathedral dates back to the 12th century and features beautful artworks and marble floors.

Tuscan Treasures: San Gimignano
Known as the city of beautiful towers. At one point it had 72, although only 14 remain today. Building a tower taller than the neighbor’s was the local way of showing your affluence. The cityscape looks like a Medieval version of Manhattan with the stone & brick towers. San Gimignano as legend goes saved the city from Attila the Hun. Explore the alleys and shops, take note of all the architectural details.

Cinque Terre
Five villages hewn into some of the most dramatic coastal scenery on the planet. Who would have thought these discreet fishing villages would become famous the entire world over?
Thankfully cars have been banned for over a decade allowing you to stroll the streets at your leisure. Take your swimsuit and have a dip like the locals to cool off on a hot day. The villages are best visiting by either the train or boats which give you great seaside views.

Tuscan Treasures: Florence
Cradle of the Renaissance, Florence boasts architectural wonders and masterpieces of art. Thankfully Florence has retained its character from the 15th & 16th century. Beautiful buildings, architectural details at every turn. Take the time to walk the cobblestone streets in the footsteps of Michelangelo & Botticelli.
